A service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kenefic Baptist Church for Johnie "Non" White, 89, Kenefic, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Revs. Bill Jeter and Les Peveyhouse will officiate.

He was born Monday, Dec. 21, 1914, in Bromide to Cloud Akins and Beluh Bell (Logan) White. He married Nell Marie Courtney Feb. 14, 1941, in Atoka. He was a lifelong resident of Bryan County and worked at the Kimbell Feed Mill for more than 20 years, then the Katy Railroad for 10 years. He was a member of the Kenefic Baptist Church. After he retired, he loved to help other people. He was awarded Man of the Year in Kenefic in 1991. He also loved to garden and be around people. He served CC Camp.

He is survived by his wife of the home; son Lonnie Jo White and wife Linda, Kenefic; daughters Kathy Whitmire and husband Kenneth, Kenefic, and Brenda Vidal and husband Ralph, Mead; grandchildren Brett Whitmire, David Whitmire, Sondra and husband Dee Baldridge, Kevin White and wife Kristen, and Natasha Williams; great-grandchildren Justin Whitmire, Whitney Whitmire and Tanner Whitmire, Richie Whitmire, Samantha Whitmire, Karey Hill, Blake Hill, Paige Baldridge and Courtney White; brothers Buck White, Atoka, D.A. White and wife Sybil, Silver City, N.M., C.J. White and wife Berva, Caddo, and Tommy White and wife Virginia, Tulsa, and sisters Goldie Hall and Ann Evans, both of Atoka.

Burial will be in Centerhill Cemetery with pallbearers Jimmy Martin, Albert Haddock, Billy Lambert, Clovis Hall, Gerlad Avant, Dusty Rhodes and Lee White.

Family hour is 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Durant Daily Democrat
