Faye Swanson, 97, of Fullerton died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.

Faye was born on Aug. 7, 1913, in Madison County, Iowa, to Lewis I. and Maude E. (Miles) Weeks.

At the age of 10 she moved with her family to Nance County and attended Timber Creek country school and Fullerton High School, graduating in 1931.

In 1936 she married Milford Swanson at Grand Island. They farmed in the North Star area.

Milford passed away in 1973. Faye remained on the farm for a year and then moved to Fullerton. In 2009 she moved to Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fullerton and a past member of an art club. She enjoyed painting, growing flowers and reading.

Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, Milton Thayne and Ramona Swanson of Minden; daughter, Patricia Lee of Fullerton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Grace Cunningham of Fullerton and a host of friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milford; brother, Gerald Weeks; and sisters, Veva McNeff and Ruby Milby.
