Fayrene F. Cole, 91, of Searcy went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2010. She was born in Garner, Ark., on Thursday, September 4, 1919, the beloved daughter of Judson W. and Delia E. (Hodges) Freeman. Fayrene is survived by her loving son, Larry Cole, many caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In 1955 Fayrene was united in marriage to Udell Cole from McCrory, Arkansas, son of William Arch and Florence Cole. Udell preceded her in death in 1995 as did her older siblings, one brother, Joseph Andrew Freeman, (Dugan), six sisters, Opal Dean Freeman, Ota Marie Freeman, Mattie Lou, (Freeman) Estelle, Thelma Ruby (Freeman) Grissom, Veria Freeman and Nona May (Freeman) Rowden.

Fayrene graduated from Garner High School, in Garner, White County, Arkansas and worked at the Ordnance Ammunition Plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas during World War II. In 1946 at the age of 27, she began a career in nursing at the old Rogers Hospital. Fayrene was a pillar of the nursing profession and devoted 43 years caring for others. In the 1970's, and wanting to stay active, she started a booth at Thackerland Flea Market outside of Judsonia. She touched the lives of many people and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Lebanon Cemetery near McRae.
