She attended elementary and high school in Holdenville. In 1970, she relocated to Oklahoma City, and graduated from Draughon's School of Business.
Orvilon learned to sew at an early age and had a passion for sewing. She owned and operated a busniess from her home which she named "Checotah's Closet." She later became a healthcare provider and was employed by Mercy Hospice until her health began to fail.
Orvilon was a member of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir and served as a member of the Grief Ministry.
After a lengthy illness, and being in and out of the hospital for most of the year 2010, Orvilon departed this life on Saturday, October 16, at OU Medical Center.
Orvilon was preceded in death by her mother, great-grandmother, one son, Orvil Antoine Knighton, and one grandson, Jonathan Jones. She is survived by her very significant other, Mr. Phillip Harding, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her father Mr. Orvil L. Harris, Sr., Ada, Oklahoma; two daughters, DaNienne L. Robinson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cheryl D. Knighton-Smith, Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, Rickey J. Knighton II (Susan), Norman, Oklahoma and Richard E. Jones, Durango, Colorado; one sister Llwellen Miller, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Orvil L. Harris, Jr., Loveland, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
