Mrs Mary Hester Absher, widow of John Wesley Absher, died at the home of her daughter, Mr. David Garrison in Marion, Il. Mrs Absher was one of the oldest persons living in Marion. She was 90 years, 9 months and 11 days of age, having been born May 11, 1844 in Ky. She was the daughter of James Stockdale and Mary Dennison Stockdale. She was married in Johnson County in 1864 to John Wesley Absher who preceded her in death. They raised a family of six children 5 of whom survive as follows: James C. Absher, Carrier Mills, Mrs. Elmora (Anderson)Garrison, Marion, Mrs.Cora (David) Garrison, Marion, Mrs. Ollie (John) Smother, Marion, and Mrs. May (Ezra) Garrison, Carrier Mills. One sister Mrs. Monroe Beach of Johnson City.
Funeral Services will be held at Spring Grove Methodist Church. Pall Bearers: Gene Smothers, John Manier, James Absher, Howard Garrison, Carl Garrison and Herman Garrison.
