Gale's father died in 1903. Gale was living with his widowed mother and younger brother at 217 West 18th Street in Erie. When he registered for the WW I draft, he was living with his mother at 531 West 9th Street in Erie. He was a bookkeeper and stenographer for Arthur L. Stone, 26 East 9th St., Erie. The family was at the same address in 1930. Gale was a salesman for Stone Refrigeration.
His mother died in 1935. Some time between 1930 and 1935, he moved to Ohio and was living in University Heights, Cuyahoga Co., OH in 1935. He was living at 1740 Chapman in East Cleveland, OH, when the 1940 Census was taken. He was a part owner (with his brother James) of a parking lot.
Gale registered for the WW II draft on 27 Apr 1943 in Cleveland, OH. He was 56. He was living at 28230 Cedar Road, Pepper Pike, Cuyahoga Co., OH, the same address as his brother James. He was employed at the parking lot at 1957 East 105th, Cleveland, OH.
He died in 1974 in Springfield, OH, having never married. His remains were taken to the Gibson plot in Erie for burial.
