husband of Nancy Mclemore Boughan Sturdevant son of James J.Boughan and Dorothy Alexander Boughan of Wilkes Co.Ga.Father of Sarah Dorothy Boughan Walker and Missouri Minor Boughan.He was a Corporal in the 7th Miss.Inf Co.E.he fought in the siege of Vicksburg and lost his life for the Confederate cause in the Atlanta Campaign.His brother Jeremiah Bentley Boughan is buried at East Pleasant Grove Cemetery Clarke Co.Miss.His other brother was Joseph Alexander Boughan.Both brothers were Confederate Veterans.Some of his children Martha,Elizebeath and Charles Jr. are buried at The McLemore-Fontaine Cemetery in Middleton,Clarke Co.Miss.The family story is that Nancy went to Georgia when she found out her husband Charles was wounded.These three youngest children died of Dipethia while she was gone to Georgia.Charles was a Baptist Minister in The Mississippi Baptist Convention.
