PORT LAVACA — W.D. Cornett Jr., 66, of Port Lavaca, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995.
He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in El Campo to Pearl Praytor Cornett of Victoria and the late W.D. Cornett. He was employed by Minerals Research and Recovery. He was in agriculture from 1950-1976, was owner operator of a flying service from 1950-1969 and owner operator of a fertilizer service from 1970-1976. He was a Baptist.
Survivors: wife, Joyce Jaster Cornett; daughters, Delana Cornett of Clear Lake; sons, Steve Cornett of Bay City and James Cornett of Houston; sister, Nan Perryman of Saltee, Georgia; and brother, Tom Cornett of Victoria.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. tonight, Richardson Funeral Home.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday, Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery, the Rev. David Bush officiating, Richardson Funeral Home, 361-552-2988.
Pallbearers: Robert Cornett, Doug Cornett, Jack Cornett, Clay Cornett, Casey Cornett, and Cole Cornett. Honorary pallbearers: Leon Tanner, Travis Tanner, Dr. W.G. Smith, Ray Brown, A.B. Rutland, and Dr. Tim McFarland.
