Pearl Avants
COLEMAN - Pearl Avants, 94, died Tuesday morning at Holiday Hills Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Whon Cemetery.
Pearl Avants was born March 27, 1904, in Springtown, Parker County, a daughter of the late William G. and Mary A. Lavender Wynn. She grew up in San Saba County and moved to Coleman County in 1926. She married Aaron D. Avants in January of 1924 in San Saba County and he preceded in death on Sept. 3, 1973. She lived in the Whon community until moving to Santa Anna in 1973. She moved to Coleman two years ago. She was a homemaker and served as a substitute postmistress at Whon for several years.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Avants of Brady; one sister, Ethel Radle of Santa Anna, three grandchildren, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
