Former Mitchell County Treasurer Dies in Oklahoma

OSAGE — Funeral services for Lloyd Tibbetts, 87, former Mitchell County treasurer, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home. He died Friday evening at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he had been spending the winter with his son, Ellsworth.

Mr. Tibbetts served as county treasurer for 12 years. He was long time member of the Masonic lodge and the Congregational Church.

Mr. Tibbelts was born in Mitchell County June 25, 1875 to James and Amanda Tibbetts. In 1891 he was married to Nellie Russell of Mitchell; She died in 1916. On May 19, 1918 he was married to Leona Knapp of Osage. She died in, 1943, Since that time he had been living in Osage except for winters in Oklahoma.

Besides his son in Oklahoma he leaves a son Merle, of Osage

Burial in the Osage Cemetery.
