"Mrs. Emma J. (Slabach) Kessler, 89, of 645 Penn Ave., West Reading, and formerly of Reinholds R.D. 1, died yesterday in the Reading Hospital.
The widow of Thomas S. Kessler, who died 19 years ago, Mrs. Kessler was born in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County.
A daughter of the late John and Lydia (Wise) Slabach, she was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Muddy Creek Union Church, near Reamstown.
Surviving are two daughters: Dr. Mabel G. Kessler, Reinholds R.D. 1, and Mrs. Charlotte K. Strausser, Philadelphia; two grandchildren, a step-grandchild and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Clarence W. Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, the Rev. George Herbert officiating. Burial will be made at Muddy Creek Church Cemetery."
