Noah was the fifth and last of the ill-fated Hoyt children. He spent most of his short life at Upstate Medical Center in New York as part of a pediatric research program on SIDS following the apparent SIDS deaths of four previous siblings. He died within 12 hours of being released from the hospital. His death was initially ascribed to SIDS but many years later was found to have been homicide. In 1995 his mother was convicted of his death, as well as the murders of his four siblings Eric, James, Julie and Molly. The case was the subject of several books, most notably "The Death of Innocents" by Richard Firstman & Jamie Talan.
