Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Janette M. "Jenny" Gross, age 78, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on July 5, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Jenny was born August 27, 1931 in St. Cloud to Laddie and Marie (Laudenbach) Jilma. She married Jim Gross on May 6, 1952 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She worked at the American Legion Post 76 and later retired from the St. Cloud Hospital after 15 years of service in the River Front Dining room. She was an avid sports fan, especially Twins and Vikings, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Jenny is survived by her children Mary Jo (Mike) Chanaka of Brooklyn Park, Rick (Jane Wimmer) of Cokato, Ann Gross of St. Cloud and Paul (Lori) Gross of Waite Park, grandchildren Stephanie, James, Jessica, Maria, Leah, Camber and Jake and great grandchildren Carter and Lyla.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Jim.
