DODGE CITY — Christopher Robert Hodges, 32, died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Western Plains Medical Complex.
He was born January 26, 1978, at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Tracey Hodges and stepfather Mike Steininger.
He was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He was a graduate of Dodge City High School. He worked for the Dodge City Fire Department and was a member of the Home Inspectors Association and the Ambucs. He enjoyed boating, jet skiing and being with his children.
On December 10, 2001, he married Shelly Dressler in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Kylan and Karsyn Hodges; his parents; brother, Tim Steininger; sisters Cynthia Mascarenas and Denise Flores; grandparents, Raymond and Glenda Steininger.
Christopher is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Pat Hodges.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the First Christian Church, Wilroads Gardens, with Jeff Hiers presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Kylan and Karsyn Hodges College Fund in care of Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.burkhart-ziegler.com.
