Brian passed away at Memorial Hospital on Palm Sunday with his family surrounding him. He had fought a very brave battle against 4th-stage pancreatic cancer, surviving over seven years past his doctor's expectations. He had lived thirty-six years with a kidney transplant, also against the odds. He lived life with gusto, not complaining of his misfortune or pain, but keeping a positive attitude and always looking forward.

Born in Modesto to Vernon F. and Dorothy Morgan, he spent his entire life here. He attended local schools and graduated in the Davis High School Class of 1969. He attended California State College, Stanislaus.

He was a man of many interests. He turned his talent as a photo-grapher into a career and worked with well-known photographers and did color print work for many local photography studios. He was a partner with Al Golub in Modesto Color Labs and later worked for The Modesto Bee for thirteen years. There he worked in photography, in the photo lab, and was Color Separation Supervisor when he retired for health reasons.

During his last years he was able to travel and was particularly happy in Hawaii, the national parks and Bodie. He was a member of E Clampus Vitus and the Lions 500 Club. He loved music concerts and worked security and photography at Leland Meadows, Mountainaire, and Oakwood Lakes.

Family members surviving Brian are sisters Patricia Gallo of Livingston, and Sally (David) Erickson of Sacramento; three nephews: Sam Gardali, James Morrison IV, and Jeffrey Morrison; and his longtime companion/friend, Marie Rhea, who was a devoted caregiver.

A graveside service will be held for Brian at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Hughson, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5. Friends are encouraged to share memories at a Celebration of Brian's Life in the Lakewood Reception Hall immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or to The Kidney Foundation of Northern California. www.modbee.com/ obituaries
