About a hundred relatives and
friends attended open house at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Titus on Tuesday,
March 18, when, this couple celebrated
their golden wedding,anniversary on the
farm where they have lived most of their
married life.
Friends and relatives began to call
soon after the noon hour and throughout
the afternoon and evening they received
congratulations and best wishes on this
occasion.
Mr, and Mrs. Titus were married at Caro
on March 18, 1891. They have three sons,
John Henry and Cecil A. Titus of Mayville
and Lyle E. Titus of Flint; and four
grandchildren.
Mr. Titus was born February 11, I860 in
Freeport, Ohio, Mrs. Titus was born July
15, 1874 on the old Cartwright farm, now
known as the Marvosh farm.
Refreshments of ice cream and cake, tea
and coffee were served to the guests. The
couple was presented with a beautiful
chair and ottoman and other lovely gifts
in remembrance of the day.
Music was furnished by Cecil
Titus and the Misses Iona Titus and
Margaret Mills on their Hawaiian
guitars, which was enjoyed by all1
