Peter Hendry's Declaration of Intention to be come a United States citizen was dated 27 August 1918 and filed in Kittitas County, Washington. He declared he was born in Falkirk Parish, Sterling County, Scotland. His nephew, Peter Fasssero, wrote, "Pete, the second son, worked in the mines for a time, then spent many years working in Yellowstone National Park. He was a blacksmith and followed that trade in Butte, Montana. A bachelor, he too, is buried in the Hendry plot." He died in Roslyn, Washington on December 23, 1952 at the age of 73 years.

Peter Hendry, 73, a resident of Roslyn since 1900, died at his home on B street about 5 p.m. Tuesday, apparently from a heart attack. He had been failing health for several years.
His sister, Mrs. Jeanette (Garlick) Garwood, had visited him earlier in the afternoon and went to the doctor's office to have him admitted to the local hospital. When she returned, she found her brother dead in a chair.
Funeral arrangements were still incomplete Wednesday evening, but were set tentatively at Stoves-Davies chapel tomorrow afternoon.
Peter Drysdale Hendry was born in Scotland September 13, 1879. After coming to Roslyn, he worked in the coal mines until retiring six years ago. For many years he worked during the spring and summer for the National Park service at Yellowstone and lived the rest of the time at Roslyn.
He was a bachelor. Survivors include four brothers, Alex (Fuzzy) Hendry, with whom he lived, Jack and George Hendry, Sr., of Roslyn and William of El Monte, Calif., also four sisters, Mrs.. Garwood of Roslyn, Mrs.. Jess Melbourne of Yakima, Mrs. Margaret Darby of Black Diamond and Mrs. Annie Clarkston of Seward, Alaska.
