Talitha Bridges, Life Resident of Dugger Dies
Talitha "Janie" Bridges, life resident of Dugger, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert Holtsclaw in Blackhawk, Saturday morning at 7:40 o'clock at the age of 70 years. She had been in failing health for the past three years, succumbing to her illness Saturday. She was born in Dugger May 10, 1873; the daughter of George Washington and Linda Moss Bledsoe, both deceased. Since her early youth she had been a member of the Dugger Church of Christ.
She is survived by the following relatives: the husband, Levi; two daughters, Mrs Robert Holtsclaw with whom she was living at the time of her death and Mrs. Delia Neal of Pontiac, Mich: one son, John Winfrey Bridges of Bloomington; two half-sisters, Mrs. Nick Taylor of Shelburn and Mrs. Al Lewellyn of Sullivan; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the M. J. Aikin and Son Funeral Home in Dugger where it lay in state until this afternoon when it was taken to the Church of Christ for funeral services at two o'clock. Rev. Maurice Clymore of that church officiated. Interment was made in the Dugger Cemetery. Monday, April 10, 1944 Sullivan Daily Times
