Colonel J. Guy Deming

ADA - Colonel J. Guy Deming, 88, 607 North Main, Ada, retired Army colonel and a clothing merchant died Thursday at Veteran's Hospital, Dayton. He had been ill eight months.

He was born Sept. 10, 1870, in Tiffin. His parents were William J. Deming and Mary Wilson Deming.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; one son, John of Greenwich, Conn.; one daughter, Mrs. William Teets of Stanford, Conn.; and four grandchildren.

Col. Deming served in the Spanish-American War, Mexican border incident, and World War I.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 185 and a past commander. He was a member of Ada Lodge 344, Free and Accepted Masons and Ada Lodge 138, Royal Arch Mason.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Hanson Funeral Home, Ada. Rev. A. Richard Teller will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon Saturday. American Legion Post 183 will hold Memorial graveside services.
