He was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Lafayette to the late Lewis John and Hazel Bull Beeler. On Dec. 4, 1976 he married Donna L. Boehle-Fitzgerald in Lafayette and she survives.
He graduated from Dayton High School, received his bachelor's degree in agricultural education from Purdue University in 1955; and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University in 1957.
Also surviving are his children, Timon D. Fitzgerald Jr. (wife: Melissa) of New Palestine, Kelly M. Freels (husband: Jess) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Melissa A. Tebben (husband: Mike) of Lake Villa, Il., Anne M. Galloway (husband: Scott) of Nolensville, Tennessee, Brian W. Beeler (wife: Kristie) and Francis S. Beeler (wife: Rhonda), both of Lafayette, Lewis J. Beeler IV (wife: Stacey) of Frankfort and Mary Branstetter (husband: Chris) of Lafayette and 26 grandchildren.
Mr. Beeler was a farmer, and was a lifelong resident of Sheffield Township. He also drove a school bus for the Tippecanoe School Corp.
He was chairman of Tippecanoe County Board of Elections, was on the Tipmont REMC board of directors and was a board member of Mulberry Telephone Co.
He had been a member of Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church since 1944, where he had served as an elder.
He was a life member of Lafayette Home Hospital Board; Purdue Alumni Association; IU Alumni Association; Indiana Farm Bureau; John Purdue Club; P-Mans Club, Alpha Zeta, Ceres Purdue Reamer Club; Merou Grotto Scottish Rite; F&AM York Rite; Murat Shrine; and a member and past master of Dayton Masonic Lodge 103 F&AM. He was a former member of Tippecanoe County School Reorganization Committee.
He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
