Obituary: Ellison E. Murphy, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Wadesville, Ind., died Nov. 3, 2003, at Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a farmer in Posey County before moving to Florida in 1961. After moving, he worked as a custodian at the local schools and as a grounds keeper at Cape Haze before retiring in 1985. He was preceded in death by a son, James Ellison Murphy; and a daughter, Thelma Jean Murphy; two brothers Melbourne and Eugene Murphy; and two sisters, Katherine Ebert and Marie Hedges. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Murphy, of Englewood, Fla.; a sister, Pauline Martin of Poseyville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel with burial in Stewartsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1 p.m. until service time. The arrangements were made by Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Cahpel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida.
