DORIS ANN WILLIAMSON

Doris Ann Williamson, age 85, of Auburndale, FL, formerly of Knox, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 peacefully at the home of her daughter Kate DeMonaco.
Doris was born March 16, 1925 to John and Versa Johnson in Valparaiso, IN and raised in East Gary.
She married Donald Williamson on February 11, 1944 in Portage and they moved to West Virginia when Donald was transferred for work. They then retired to Knox, and she became a member of the Presbyterian Church in Winamac. Doris loved spending time with her family and was a skilled seamstress. She was very proud of making her daughter's wedding dress, which fit her daughter perfectly even though she did not have one fitting.
Doris will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
Doris is survived by her children: Marilyn (David) Kaiser of Wanatah, IN, Andrew (Sue) Williamson of WV, Donald Williamson of Parkersburg, WV and Kathryn DeMonaco of Auburndale, FL; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Betty) Johnson of Lake Station and Samuel (Alice) Johnson of CO; sister, Phyllis Cannon of Lake Wales FL; special sister-in-law, Shirley Williamson and other loving family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Donald of over 63 years; her son, Jerry; her parents; three brothers: William, Paul, and Lloyd L. Johnson and sister, Ruth Johnson. Memorial Contributions are preferred for family wishes. A funeral service will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, IN.
Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, (219) 942-2109
