Dan attended St. Laurent School, was active in Boy Scouts Troop 17, working his way up to the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Wilcox Tech, where he studied auto mechanics and went on to win first prize in the VICA statewide competition, in the automotive division for two consecutive years. Upon graduation, Dan joined the CT Army National Guard and continued to serve his country in that capacity, having just returned from Camp Drum with the 143rd ASG Unit.
Dan worked as a mechanic, in his trade, for Bob's Garage and Autobody and then, full-time for the CT Army National Guard. In his free time, Dan served as a volunteer for the SMVFD. Following in the footsteps of his paternal grandfather and great-grandfather, Dan joined the Meriden Police Department in 2008. He was extremely proud to serve his community.
Dan was the loving father to Nicholas and Robert Ghidini Naimoli; and the beloved son of Gary and Vivian Naimoli. He leaves behind his loving sister, Angela Naimoli and her fiancé, Ryan Amorisino; his maternal grandmother, Blanche Grégoire; his paternal grandfather, Anthony Naimoli; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Irene Naimoli and maternal grandfather, Leo Grégoire.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian burial with his uncle, the Rev. Leo Grégoire officiating. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and relatives my call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, on Friday, July 23, from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Naugatuck Savings Bank for the Naimoli Children.
