Franklin K. Adams
Franklin K. Adams, 73, died late Wednesday night of last week in Borgess Hospital, after an illness of several months. He was born October 11, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin B. Adams, and had resided in Lawton and Porter township all his life, operating a grape farm. He was a life member of the Lawton Masonic lodge. He was married to Josephine Burhans, who died several years ago. Later he was married to Josie Baldwin, who passed away earlier this year. He leaves two sons, Allan of Kendall and Gordon of Lawton; one daughter, Mrs. Marian Moe of Jackson; a brother, Horace H. Adams of Paw Paw; a step-son, Roy Baldwin of Albion; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Prindle funeral home at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, Rev. Charles Garrod of the Lawton Methodist church officiating. Services at Oak Grove cemetery were in charge of the Lawton Masonic lodge, with Past Master Francis Lewis giving the burial service. Casket bearers were John Turner, Horace Hayne, Wilbur Lytle, Russell Cornish, Gaines Finch and Stanley Cornish.

Note: Franklin Kinney Adams was married (1) to Josephine May Burhans (born 1884 - 17 April 1944) on 31 Jan 1907. She was the daughter of Henry Akin Burhans and Mary Louise Lyman. Franklin and Josephine had six children: One
daughter was stillborn, and the other daughter was Marian Kathleen Adams (later Moe). There were four sons:
Franklin Burhans Adams (6/11/1908 - 7/8/1928),
Leon Fletcher Adams (9/18/1910 - 4/10/1932),
Allan Burton Adams (3/13/1914 - 11/1/ 1989),
and Gordon Wayne Adams (8/6/1915 - 5/5/1969).

He married (2) Josephine "Josie" M. Baldwin (6/7/1882 - 3/3/1954) in 1947.
