Helen Lou Watkins, 79, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, with the Rev. Archer Murphy officiating.

Helen was born in Marlin, Texas, to George and Helen Green. She will be remembered as the long time owner and manager of The Marlin Town Door, her zest for life, her love of family, friends, flowers, and any opportunity "to go." She will live in our hearts forever.

Helen was preceded in death by her father, George Green; and her mother, Helen Green Wilson.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Watkins and wife, Lisa; grandsons, Michael Wayne Watkins Jr. and Wendell Lee Watkins, both of Waco; loving brothers, George Walter Green and wife, Nettie, of Waco, Edwin Green and wife, Vonnie, of Westphalia, and Roy Dale Green, of Marlin; sisters, Emma Schrader, of Chilton, and Martha Knies, of Wimberley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
