OBITUARY:


Jack "Jackie" Alan Mason, 52, of Oaktown, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital. He was surrounded by loved ones. Born November 15, 1957 in Vincennes, he is the son of the late Jack Mason and Helen Brower Mason-Wolfe. He was a graduate of North Knox High School in 1976.

Jackie spent his entire life in the Oaktown area where he was an active member of the Oaktown United Methodist Church, Busseron Township Volunteer Fire Department, Carlisle Oddfellows Lodge, among other various activities. For multiple years, Jackie owned and managed Mason's Surplus, but spent his last few years working for Halter Tree Service.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tonjia Ann King Mason, whose love for him is deep and eternal, son Josh Mason & Abby, daughter Holly Mason Coats & Eric, granddaughter Hayden Coats, mother Helen Mason-Wolfe and stepfather Bill Wolfe, in-laws Roger and Sharon King, brothers Bill Mason and Teresa, Mark Mason and Cathy, Kelly Mason and Tracee, sister Terry Parks and Chuck, sister in-law Lissa Pinnick-Mason, multiple cousins, neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Jackie Lee Mason and brother Stanly Sherman Mason.

Although his life was cut tragically short following an ATV accident, he lived every day to the fullest and touched all those that knew him with his wit, humor and loving nature. He knew the Lord and is spending eternity in His presence. Visitation will be held Saturday Oct 16, 2010 from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the Methodist Church in Oaktown. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. also on Saturday. Online condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral homes website www.mcclure-utt.com. Arrangements were handled by Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oaktown United Methodist Church, the Busseron Township Fire Department or Thursday Church.
