For the past several years, Mr. Tang, always genial and uncomplaining, had been suffering from a heart ailment and sought medical assistance on several occasions. Last Friday evening he was taken to a Fargo hospital when his condition seemed to find a sudden climax of more than usual distress. He died as dawn was breaking Saturday morning.
Peter John Tang was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tang, born October 1, 1875 at Sogen, Norway. He came to America with his parents at the age of eleven years, the family making their home on a farm near Cormorant, Minn.
Ten years later he came to North Dakota to homestead on a farm near McHenry and worked for several farmers through the Cooperstown Binford territory.
In 1902 he went into business in Cooperstown where he has since resided. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Loge in 1904 and to this union seven children were born.
Surviving him are his wife; two daughters, Josephine and Selma; four sons, Arthur, Ernest, Oscar and Palmer, all of Cooperstown; and two sisters, Emma Tang and Mrs. Josephine Stark of Oregon; three brothers, Lewis in Oregon, John of Paraidi, Sask., and Martin of Iowa. A daughter, Jeanette, died 12 years ago.
