Son of Samuel and Apphia Freeman, was born in Watertown, Mass., May 11, 1639. He married Mercy, daughter of Constant Southworth, assistant in the Plymouth Colony, May 12, 1658, and became deacon of the church in Eastham in 1676. He was a representative in the general court of Plymouth in 1697, and was a man of "pecuniary resources and financial ability." He purchased a portion of the Governor Prence estate and he owned many acres of the best land in Eastham and adjoining towns. He died Nov. 25, 1712.
