Victor G. Bakke, 72, former resident of Big Sandy, passed away June 3, 1994 in Manhattan.
Bakke was born April 23, 1921 in the Kenilworth community. He attended schools in Big Sandy and entered the military service in August of 1942. Following an accident during training, he was discharged in March of 1943.
He was married to Peggy Beck in Havre on August 29, 1944, and after his marriage he worked for the Northern Implement Co. in Big Sandy. He left Big Sandy in the '60s following road construction and later was employed at the Yellowstone Pine in Belgrade, then drove truck for several years.
He is survived by his wife Peggy of Manhattan; a daughter Bonnie Lucas at Elk, WA.; Ben Bakke of Fallon, NV.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Donald of Big Sandy, and Laverne of Moutrie, GA; one sister, Margaret Jordan of Penryn, CA.
A memorial service was held in Bozeman. Graveside services at Big Sandy cemetery.
