Martin Bakke Passes at Big Sandy Hospital
Martin B. Bakke, 77, Big Sandy area carpenter and resident of that section since he came to homestead 55 years ago, died at the Big Sandy medical center last week. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Big Sandy Lutheran Church.
Mr. Bakke was born at Kiester, Minn., and moved to Big Sandy to homestead in 1913. He married Louise Kulbeck in 1919 at Fort Benton. Mr. Bakke served many years in the Big Sandy fire department as fire chief.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Victor Bakke, Manhattan, Mont., and LaVerne Bakke, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Gordon, Fair Oaks, Calif.; a brother and two sisters.
