"DEATH OF L. A. DOW

Lorenzo A. Dow, a pioneer of the valley, died at his home on Nob Hill last night of general debility, brought on by advanced age.

Mr. Dow was born October 12, 1833, and had he lived until next Monday would have completed his 81st year.

In the year 1859 Mr. Dow was married to Mrs. Maria L. Chapin at Minneapolis, Minnesota, in which state the family lived for many years. To this union was born four children, all of whom are living.

For the most part of his life Mr. Dow was a contractor and many great buildings and structures in the east were built by him. Coming to Washington twenty-five years ago he took up farming and devoted himself to that line for some time but was compelled to retire a few years ago.

Besides the widow he is survived by four children - Edwin Dow, of Olympia; John K. Dow, of Spokane; Mrs. A. N. Berlin. of Kent, and Mrs. Helen Dow Whitaker, of Pullman.

Funeral services will be held from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock under direction of Undertaker Chittenden. The service will be conducted by Mrs. Dr. Higgins, of Seattle.

Interment will be made in the Kent cemetery."
