Peter Robert Burrell, 4th Baron Gwydyr was born on 27 April 1810. He was the son of Hon. Lindsey Merrick Peter Burrell and Frances Daniell. He married, firstly, Sophia Campbell, daughter of F. W. Campbell, on 10 December 1840. He married, secondly, Georgina Holford, daughter of G. P. Holford, on 8 May 1856. He died on 3 April 1909 at age 98.
