CLAUDE - Roy Edwin Chauveaux, 101, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Claude with the Rev. Dick Gravley officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude.

Mr. Chauveaux was born Feb. 10, 1909, in Claude to Antonia A. "Tony" and Celine Boudes Chauveaux. He married Jewell Collum on May 20, 1938, in Dalhart.

He had been a lifelong resident of Claude and Armstrong County, where he farmed and ranched. He loved fishing, the outdoors and traveling.

He also liked to dance and listen to music. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Claude.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, on May 29, 1988; two sisters, Louise Swan and Mary Dooley; and a brother, Ivan Chauveaux.

Survivors include a son, Doug Chauveaux and wife Cyd of Spring; a daughter, Janis Chauveaux of Claude; three sisters, Frances Reck of Claude and Annabelle Hughes and Genia Hughes, both of Amarillo; a brother, John Chauveaux of Claude; five grandchildren, Mark Chauveaux, Amy Inman and husband Luke, Matthew Salim, Daniel Salim and wife Sandra, and Stephen Salim; six great-grandchildren, Lawson Inman, Ethan, Blake, Corbin, Owen and Izzac Salim; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jean Baten of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to Armstrong County Museum, 120 N. Trice St., Claude, TX 79019; or a favorite charity.

Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 312 Dysart St.
