Janice Newton Whitt, 73, of Rogersville, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at ECM Hospital. She was a faithful, lifelong member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Dr. Barry Lumpkins delivering the eulogy and Andy Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in Barkley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mycal Newton, Brandon Newton, Miles Grisham, Phillip Wayne Newton, James Newton, and Tim Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Green, Troy Butler, and Standley Whitt.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold "Sport" Campbell and Edna Campbell Hall, and husbands, Billy Newton and Melbert Ritter. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Whitt; children, Scotty Newton and Lisa Beaver; stepfather, J.T. Hall; grandchildren, Amy (Chad) Rutherford, Lara (Miles) Grisham, Mycal Newton, and Brandon Newton; great-grandchildren, Caden and Paisley; sister, Bonnie Draper; and niece, Michelle Draper.
