'KENNEDY, Marcellus, at the residence of his father near Pleasant Hill, MO on the 29th of March; eldest son of Mr. W.W. Kennedy, formerly of this county, in the 7th year of his age; grandson of Major W.W. Branham of Paris whom he had been visiting; became ill with scarlet fever while on a Missouri River steamer, died soon after arriving home."
