RICHARD ROBBINS
Born after June 6, 1709, died 1778-1789 Randolph, NC

There has been some very bad research on Richard Robbins and his parents, but from Land Deeds and Tax records in Rowan Co North Carolina, I am certain he was the unborn son
of Joseph Robbins and Anna Packe of Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey in Joseph's Will of 1709, Richard was the unborn child. His brother Joseph Robbins. Jr and sister Bethiah Robbins who married John Nation, Jr was in Rowan North Carolina at the same time period 1751-1770 and his connections to the Nations, Vickeries Swaims, makes it certain his was related to Joseph Robbins, Jr when he was a witness to his Will in 1754 Rowan Co. North Carolina

His proven children from the tax list were Isaac, Jacob, Michael, Richard, Jr. John and from land deeds I believe his oldest sons were Elisha and William, and his younger children were James, Mathias, Jonathan, and daughters Nancy Ann and Isabell Robbins.

Richard Robbins married Anne Race 21 March 1729 Burlington, New Jersey. I believe Richard was still in New Jersey in 1741 and went South to join his family in Virginia because there was a warrant for his arrest in 1741. His brother Joseph Robbins had escaped from jail on Aug 1729 and went to Virginia joining his sister Bathiah Robbins Nation and her family.

The reasons are not known but possible because of debts. We know Richard was in Frederick Virginia by 1745 per court records. All of then in Rowan by 1754 John Nation and Bathiah Robbins. Joseph and Frances Nation, and Richard Robbins.
