According to her Washington State death record, Cordelia was the daughter of John Burger and Permilia Hauber.

Cordelia was the wife of Lewis E. Hixson of Burlington, Iowa.

Mrs. Cordelia Hixson passed away at her home in Kent early Monday morning after a lingering illness.

She was born in Steuben County, New York, October 6th, 1837 and was married to Lewis E. Hixson at Burlington, Iowa, March 24th, 1861.

Four children were born of this union, two of whom are now living., T. H. Hixson of Palmer, Saskatchewan, and Mrs. Douglas Tancred of Kent, Wash.

The funeral took place at the Episcopal church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon; Rev. Rodney J. Arney conducting the services and was largely attended by friends who had known and loved her for the thirty years she had lived among them. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful."
