Betty M. Jensen, 79, of Kearney died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Gibbon Good Samaritan Center in Gibbon.
Services were held Monday at Layton- Craig Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Burial was at Minden Cemetery in Minden.

Betty was born on May 24, 1931, in Kirwin, Kan., to Ralph and Helen (Newell) Gaines.
She grew up in the Agra, Kan., area. On Oct. 23, 1955, she married Ernest Jensen. They made their home in Minden.
Betty worked at the Pioneer Village for a short time. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family on the telephone, her flower garden, dancing to the polka and listening to country music. Most of all, she loved being around her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Diann Jensen of Kearney, and Denise Godtel and her husband Lonny of Clay Center; one son, Dennis Jensen and his wife Arlene of Kearney; stepdaughter, Yvonne Gydesen
and her husband Orville of Aurora, Neb.; stepdaughter-in-law, Marcia Jensen of Calif.; seven grandchildren, Laci, Dan, Jessica, Delsia, Holly, Zac and Brittany; five stepgrand- children, Rebecca, Kristi, Eric, Justin and Tanya; and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Ezra.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie who died in 1973; stepson, Ernie Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters.
