He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department with thirty-eight years of service.
His wife of 56 years June Rigdon Rowe whom he married February 14, 1948 in Rockville died June 19, 2004.
He is survived by two sons, Roger C. Rowe and Doug R. Rowe and his wife Kevin Elizabeth both of Rockville; four brothers, Macy Rowe, George Rowe, Jack Rowe and Rodney Rowe; four grandchildren, Jade Larson and her husband Eric, Lucas W. Rowe, Sarah Westrick and Jason Westrick and his wife Katie; two great-grandchildren, Mason B. Larson and Klayton L. Larson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Rowe, Jessie Rowe and Cole Rowe.
He was a member of Rockville Memorial Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a 1941 graduate of Bellmore High School. He was a member of the VFW Paul Taylor Post #1752, American Legion Fellenzer Post #48, Rockville AMVETS Post #61. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Graveside service will be 12:15 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, with the Rev. Carl Huxford officiating and military honors by Parke County Veterans following. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard St., Rockville.
Memorial contributions, if friends so desire may be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 in his memory."
