GOODRICH, Ella H. LEHMAN
b: Nov 12 1852, Covington, OH
d: Nov 12 1939, Petaluma, Sonoma Co, CA
bur: Calhoun Cemetery, Tebo Twp, Henry Co, MO
Clinton MO - Mrs. Ella Lehman Goodrich was born in Covington, Ohio, November 17, 1852, and died in Petaluma, Calif., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde McClarren, November 12, 1939, being 87 years old. In 1880 she came to Calhoun and a year later was united in marriage to John Goodrich, who preceded her in death three years ago. To this union was given one daughter, now Mrs. Clyde McClarren of California, who survives and with whom Mrs. Goodrich had made her home since the death of her husband. In early childhood she was converted and identified herself with the Baptist church in Ohio, later bringing her membership to Calhoun, where it remained in the church militant, until she went home to the church triumphant. She was the last of her family and was laid to rest beside her companion and twin sister, Mrs. Kensinger, in the Calhoun cemetery. She was of a quiet but jovial disposition and appreciated even the smallest of favors. Her home was her pride and she loved to cook and have her relatives and friends as guests. The last few years of her life were spent quietly, as she had become deaf. She enjoyed friends and loved ones. The entire group of the Goodrich families are bound to this mother by kindred ties and to each one she was, "Aunt Ella." She was a kind and loving neighbor and friend, always ready to help in time of need, easily winning the respect of all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, who were her greatest joy and delight and who granted her every with and made her days full of sunshine; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body arrived in Calhoun Friday. Funeral service were conducted at the Baptist church Saturday. Pall bearers were six of her great-nephews, Orin, Ralph, Lawrence, Frank, David and Arthur Goodrich.
