Lula Bell Sanders age 71, formerly of (address removed) passed away Monday January 25, 2010 at Abington Crest Nursing Home.

She was born on July 4, 1938 in Victory Valley, Miss, a daughter of the late Joe and Rosie Bell Showers Bush. Lula is the fifth child from that reunion. Lula was a resident of Erie for 33 years.
She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Lula was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed being around her family and was a jokester. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music and was an avid gardener.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Lee Sanders, a daughter Essie Sanders, and two brothers, John Stewart and Roy Hollis.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Martha Sanders, three sons, Willie James (Marie) Sanders of Birmingham, Al, Eddie and Joe Sanders both of Erie, three brothers, Rev. Joe Bush (Ida) Minister Archie Bush (Robin) and John Showers all of Erie, four sisters, Annie B. Gavin, Mary Tate and Susie Shower, all of Erie and Anna Jean Dooley of Columbus, Miss., four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A very special cousin Mary Howard (Artee) Wilborn, of Buffalo, NY, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may attend services at The Divine Glory Kingdom Temple, at 233 16th and Division Streets, Erie, Pa on Saturday at 1:00p.m. with Prophet Massey Officiating.

Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
