Republican. Member of Pennsylvania State Senate 10th District for 12 years, elected 1958. In the Senate, he served as chairman of the elections and reapportionment committees, chairman of the highways committee, vice chairman of the law and order committee and chairman of the joint commission on local and state government.

He was a delegate to Republican National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1964. He represented Bucks County in the House of Representatives for ten years, eleceted 1948, and had served as Bucks Co. registrar of wills for four years. He entered politics in 1943 when he was elected county registrar of wills.

He graduated from Rider College and he had been: a building contractor, director of the Langhorne Federal Savings and Loan Association, member of the advisory committee of the Central Penn National Bank of Philadelphia, treasurer of Newtown Borough School District, member of Newtown Joint Municipal Authority, past president of Newtown Exchange Club, Newtown Masonic Lodge, and Newtown Methodist Church.
