Thomas Rush FREEMAN of Olin held the office of County Superintendent of Schools of Adams county during the years 1870-1871. FREEMAN was born in Barnard, Vermont May 12, 1831, the son of Lucius and Clarrisa (STEVENS) FREEMAN. Thomas was educated in the district schools of Barnard and the Woodstock Academy in Vermont. Moving to Wisconsin in 1856 he settled on purchased land at Olin. On November 26, 1856 he was united in marriage to Sophronia, daughter of Timothy and Sophronia Temple of Plainville, WI. The Temple family removed from Reading, Massachusettes to Adams county in 1856 settling in Plainville. The Temple home was used many years later as the Plainville postoffice with Mrs Lottie SPERBACH as postmistress."
