Funeral services were held for Mable E. Rundell on Friday, January 27th in the Hurley Presbyterian at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Bert Itterman officiated with the assistance of Rev. Elton Kirstein. Interment was in the Hurley cemetery. The Hofmeister Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mable Elliott Rundell was born at Centerville, South Dakota October 27, 1887, and passed away at a Sioux Falls hospital on January 23, 1956 at the age of 68 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

She came to Hurley with her parents at the age of 8 years where she spent the rest of her life with the exception of 8 years in Minnesota.

She was married to Clyde C. Rundell on October 3, 1907. To this unit were born seven children. One girl died in infancy. A son Lloyd gave his life for his country in 1944 and her husband Clyde passed away August 30, 1955. She is survived by her children, Edgar of Fosston, Minnesota; Ethelyn (Mrs. Alvin Mork) of Parker; Robert of Herlong, California; Dorothy (Mrs. John Johnson) of Crookston, Minnesota; and Harold of Iowa City, Iowa. Also, the grandchildren, Marilyn, Carol, Linda and Phyllis Rundell. Lois and Ellen Mork and Lloyd and Lowell Johnson. Three brothers, Harry and Bert Elliott of Sioux Falls and Ray Elliott of Hurley; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Payne of Watauga, South Dakota and Mrs. Ethel Bartlett of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, and a host of friends.

Mable was a very faithful member of the Presbyterian Church, having joined on January 12, 1902. She was also an active member of the Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 41 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Hurley. She was a member of the first graduating class of the three-year course of Hurley High School.
