Pearl Hohman Christensen was born Mar. 31, 1890, daughter of Emma and Frank J. Hohman, at McGregor, IA. She graduated from McGregor public schools in 1909. She taught school in Iowa and in South Dakota prior to her marriage, in McGregor, IA to Menholt Christensen of Hurley, on Aug. 26, 1920.

Mrs. Christensen was very active in civic and community affairs. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She helped organize the Hurley Public Library and librarian for about thirty years. She was a member of the Woman's club of Hurley and Green Thumb Garden Club, and past president of both. Also a member of the Spring Valley Extension club and Spring Valley Neighborhood club.

She was a nationallyaccredited flower show judge and instructor. She instructed classes in horticulture and judged flower shows on numerous occasions in SD, MN and NE.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, Genevieve Hohman of McGregor, IA, two brothers, George H. Hohman of Oscoda, MI and M. James Hohman, Terre Ceia, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Blanche in infancy, Agnes Allen of Slater, IA in 1931 and Florence Baylis of Chippewa Falls, WI on Jul. 16, 1959.
