Mrs. Emma S. Mearkle
Wife of Samuel Roy Mearkle, formerly of 700 Crawford Avenue, Altoona, PA. died at 12:45 o'clock this morning at the McCaulley Convalescent Home, where Mr. Mearkle is also a guest. She was born in Sweden April 9, 1882, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.G. Holtman. Surviving are her husband; five sons, David and Albert, (formerly of Altoona, PA) Robert of Altoona; Victor E. of Baltimore, MD and Russell R. of Aberdeen, MD. Two daughters, Mrs. Belva Weisel of Altoona and Mrs. Mary Ellen Hoffman of Greenbelt, MD; two brothers, Albert and Victor Holtman of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Larson of Minneapolis and Mrs, Lena Danielson of Oregon; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs Mearkle was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Firends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
