Poseyville News dated January 6, 1950:
Following many years of invalidism, Mrs. Anna Heckman Norton, 77, wife of George Norton, retired contractor, succumbed at her home in Stewartsville at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. A patient for a number of years in a nursing home in Evansville, she returned home several months ago but her condition remained unimproved. She was a native of the Stewartsville community and with the exception of a few years in Evansville following her marriage, she spent her entire life in and around Stewartsville. She was the daughter of Jacob and Mary Heubner Heckman, prominent Stewartsville residents. She was a member of the Methodist church and during her active life was a devoted member, attending Sunday School and church regularly, and at one time teaching in the church school. She was a member of the Poseyville chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. The body is at the P.C. Werry & Son Funeral home where friends may call after 5 o'clock today. It will remain there until the funeral services which will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Stewartsville Methodist church. Burial will be in the Stewartsville cemetery. Surviving in addition to the husband are two sons, Allyn Norton, of Evansville and Arthur Norton, of St. Petersburg Fla.; a brother, Martin Heckman, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Reynolds, of Stewartsville, and Mrs. Emma Heuring, of Ft. Branch, and three grandchildren.
