James Arooney Burgundy Allen, Called "Judd" came to Texas after the Civil War with his mother, Elizabeth Thomason Allen and two siblings, William Valentine "Tine" Severe Allen and Mary Elizabeth Allen.
They settled in Tarrant County. Here he married Sarah Carolina Tranquilla Mosaly, a neighbor from Tennesse whose family also came to Texas.
Judd and Sarah raised one boy and six girls on their homestead just west of Keller, Tarrant, Texas. Judd had a 450 acre ranch where he raised stock, sheep, wheat, corn & cotton.
