Funeral service for Naomi Brown, 94 of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Calvary Temple in Cyril. Pastor Kip Ackley will officiate.
Naomi was born July 13, 1920 at her home in Cyril to Audis and Jessie McGuire. She passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at MonteVista Rehabilitation Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Naomi attended Tonkawa Schools through the 8th grade and later graduated from Cyril High School in 1939. In October of 1939, she was united in marriage to Arthur Brown of Cyril. For many years, Naomi worked for E. R. Kaiser grocery store. Later Mr. and Mrs. Brown purchased Wolf’s Service Station in Cyril. They later bought Otasco in Cyril and ran it for 17 years until they retired. Naomi then volunteered at Comanche County Memorial Hospital for 20 years until her health forced her to retire. For many years she was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cyril prior to joining Calvary Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Brown; her parents Audis and Jessie McGuire; brother Loyd McGuire; sister Gladys Miller.
Mrs. Brown was the matriarch of 5 generations in Oklahoma: daughter, Shirley (Brown) Stalder and husband Andy, Cyril; granddaughter, Diana (Stalder) Gray and husband Kenny, Cyril; great granddaughters, Haley (Gray) McPherson and husband Tre’, Cyril; Kenna (Gray) Garrard and husband Cory, Elgin; great great granddaughters and great great grandson, Kadence and Kennady Garrard, Elgin; Bre’dyn McPherson, Cyril.
She is also survived by granddaughter, Deborah (Stalder) Rodriguez and husband Ron, Moore; great granddaughter, Andie Rodriguez, Moore; great grandson, Troy Rodriguez, Moore. Also in Ohio, she is survived by daughter, Patsy (Brown) Moser and husband Bobby, Dublin, OH; grandsons, Mitch Moser and wife Pamela, Galloway, OH; Brannon Moser and wife Michelle, Powell, OH; great grandchildren, Jake Moser, Ben Moser, Becca Moser, Galloway, OH, Isabelle Moser, Meghan Moser, Brannon Moser, Quentin Moser, Powell, OH.
Burial will be in Cyril at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.
