A life cut short because of bone cancer (leg). Her oldest sister, Lottie Dykes Smith, would stay up all night rubbing Nina's afflicted leg near the end. Nina had bone cancer in her leg And was in constant pain. In the picture of Nina holding her favorite at, you can see one leg is nothing but bone. My Grandmom Lottie told me that when the dr would pull the packing out of Nina's leg she would scream from the pain. I would visit Nina's grave with Grandmom Lottie when I was a little girl. We would put flowers on it.

Her name was pronounced "Nine-nah."
